Emily + Matt {a golf course wedding}

I am trying to get a lot of my sessions blogged that I have slacked on due to my busy Fall. I am starting it off with a beautiful golf course wedding with Emily + Matt! They were married on a beautiful fall day in October at Toad Valley Golf Course in Pleasant Hill, IA. (just outside of Des Moines.) From the location to the details – Emily did an outstanding job preparing for the wedding of her dreams. Lots of tears shed at this wedding as it was one of the most emotional weddings I have ever photographed – making it one of my top weddings ever! So much emotion!

2015 review!

Happy New Year/January to all of you! I just want to thank each and every one of you that made my 2015 my best year yet! I really do appreciate each and every one of you that trusts me with capturing moments for your families for years to come. I always say it but…I do have the best clients! 2016 is looking fabulous already! Another sunny California wedding, another up state New York wedding, a lodge wedding, lots of vineyard weddings this year, an outdoor amphitheater wedding, an outdoor ceremony at a mansion, etc… SO excited for all of these weddings and am looking forward to seeing my adorable families and meeting new ones for the year ahead! #muchlove

The Ellinwood’s {a Louisville session on the farm}

Always a great time with the Ellinwood’s! Amber wanted her session to be taken down at her mother-in-law’s home which is in Louisville! How ironic – as we are now Louisville residents. 🙂 Such a gorgeous piece of property she owns. We had a great time walking around during sunset finding some great little places to snap a few photos. Sarah + Reggie are ENGAGED!

Such a great time I had with Sarah + Reggie last weekend snapping a few engagement photos for them. These two are planning on tying the knot in November 2016 in Mexico! I adore destination wedding couples since I, myself was a destination bride.

Funny story how Sarah and I first met. I turned 35 – went to get my drivers license renewed and little did I know – I am blind as a bat seeing distance. So, I had to hurry up and get my eyes checked since I was leaving for a destination wedding in California a week later and would need to rent a car. Well, I had to have proof that I went to an eye doctor and got some glasses before I could get my license back. So, I went to Target of course to the eye exam area and Sarah was working there and helped me with my pick of eye glasses and everything in between. We chatted a while and I let her know that I am a boutique wedding photographer. She asked for a card, and I gave it to her. Little did I know, I would be hearing from her 8 months later to schedule some engagement photos. 🙂 Goes to show you – you never know when you are going to meet someone and always have your business cards on you!

Sarah + Reggie are so in love and it shows in their photos. I had such a great time with you both and I can’t wait to see what your future holds. Happy Planning! xoxo
