The Jones Family {dodging the rain at OPPD Park}

Introducing…the adorable Jones family! 🙂

So…I had a couple of sessions reschedule because of the rain. boo. (enough with the rain Nebraska.) Jill & family decided to keep their session and dodge the rain. We had about a 25 minute time period where it was dry (and actually were able to get some sun kissed photos)…and I’m so pleased with what we captured.

Thank you Jones family for braving the weather with me! Loved every second of our time together!

    Amber + Kent {A country engagement}

    Congratulations to my buddy, Kent & his fiancé Amber! Such a fun engagement session with these two!

    Kent has been one of my closest guy friends since kindergarten. We grew up together in Stanton, IA. I am so thrilled that he found Amber to spend the rest of his life with. She is a doll and I couldn’t be more happy for him.

    Kent & Amber live in Winterset, IA and came to stay with me & my family for a weekend. We started our session in the evening around 7:30 or so (almost dark) on the gravel road right behind my house. It was misting/sprinkling the entire time, but I feel like we got some great shots despite the weather. 🙂 The next morning I took them to Platte River State Park and we walked around there and found some spots to take  a few more photos.

    Kent & Amber – I loved every second of our time together! Thank you for a fun weekend and for choosing me to document your special moments together! Can’t wait for your wedding in September! Love you both!

      …rainy days call for candles – even in the Summer!

      I love candles! All kinds of candles! I don’t care if it’s 100 degrees outside, I light my candles. Most of them are vanilla scented or caramel or something similar. I love the cozy feeling it gives me…and the smell of course. I switch between Yankee candles & Bath & Body Works. Both of these throw off such incredible throws – (depending on the scent, of course.) I also use the plug ins all year round and my home is always smelling delicious. Now, go light a candle!

        Fun with the Studer boys! {old downtown Elkhorn, NE}

        Such little cuties! I have been photographing the Studer family since Reed was 2 years old..he is now 6! Love my time with these boys! Griffin is already 2 years old and such a little ham. These boys love one another and are just always a joy to be around. Love getting to see my families every year and some multiple times in the year – always so great catching up with them and seeing how much their babies have grown. Thank you Julie, Reed & Griffin for another great session.

          Easter at the Jensen’s!

          We had Easter at our home this year. Seems like everyone loves coming to our home for the holidays and we are ok with that. We love entertaining … especially our loved ones! We had a pretty simple menu – Brent smoked some burgers on his Traeger, and I just made some simple dip to spread on crackers. We had chips, and my folks brought the dessert, so we were all set. Easy Peasy…and good! I have been doing this Intermittent Fasting (look it up!) for a month now and this meal was the most calories I consumed all together (at once) in over a month. It was worth it…so good! 🙂

          We ate, laughed, told stories, played outdoors and just enjoyed each others company.
